Where is the best place to apply for a first time homebuyers mortgage? Wondering who is best with closing costs, fees, etc. Also looking for a reputable realtor to work with.

I highly recommend you take this homebuyers education class from the HRDC in Bozeman. It's very helpful! We learned a lot before buying our house almost 4 yrs ago. Other tip: when applying for a loan, turn an application in several places at the same time because it will then only count as 1 ding on your credit (if it's spread out too much when they inquire for financing it hurts your credit every time) & you can then compare offers if approved multiple locations. (FYI: Big Sky Western Bank gave us an interest rate discount because we had an account there!) https://www.thehrdc.org/how-we-help/housing/homebuyer-education/
My husband and I are talking about purchasing our first home in the next 6 months or so and we are wondering where to even start. Do we meet with a financial advisor or go to a lender to get pre-approved? Any recommendations or thoughts appreciated. Thanks!
