After two births that didn't end how I planned, I decided to hire a doula for my third pregnancy and labor. With her help I achieved the childbirth experience I always dreamed of and a passion for serving as a doula was born in me. It is my goal to educate and empower women to work through their fears, believe in their bodies and have their most desired & beautiful birth experience possible.
I am here to support you through your ideal birth; I will help you understand the choices that lie ahead and support your decisions. It is so important to me that women fully understand what is happening so they can make informed decisions they will be happy with in the years to come.
I will hold your hand both emotionally and physically.
I will help you feel safe and secure.
I will believe in you.
And most importantly, I will help you believe in yourself!
I am certified through Childbirth International. In addition, my birth experience includes induction, cesarean section, VBAC, natural labor with pitocin, natural labor in a hospital setting, natural labor at home, and water birth.
Clinical studies have proven that a doula’s presence at birth tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications, reduces negative feelings about one’s childbirth experience, reduces the need for pitocin (a labor-inducing drug), forceps or vacuum extraction and cesareans, reduces the mother’s request for pain medication and/or epidurals and provides countless other immeasurable advantages.
{Question from a #BRmom}
"Does anyone have recommendations for doulas? Thanks in advance."
Meghan M. replied:
I agree that it totally matters who you connect with. It's so important for both mom/dad and doula to be comfortable with each other. I am privileged to serve area families as a birth doula and would love to meet with anyone interested in taking control of their birth experience! Empoweredbirthbr.comFacebook.com/empoweredbirthbr
