About us
The idea of The GET FUNK KREW originated 28 years ago with the founder DJ FIG FUNK. Throughout the years FIG FUNK performed at weddings, quinceneras, clubs, and private parties while spinning all genres of music.
At the age of 14 he had created his first group of 2 known as IBM (Industrial Bass Mode). But that wasn't enough. By the time he was 22 he had transformed the team to TEJANO FUNK (now 3 members). In the year 2000 he dropped the "Tejano" and became FIG FUNK 2000 then FIG FUNK (4 members). But this wasn't enough. DJ FIG FUNK had a vision of a very large professional crew that could handle ALL social events with ALL types of music.
By the mid 2000's he teamed up with fire-fighter/Dj NON-STOP and created this vision. FIG FUNK & THE GET FUNK KREW was born! Within the first year the crew was up to 5 and a MASCOT MEMO.
THE GET FUNK KREW stands at 10 members who love performing at Weddings, Clubs, Corporate Parties, Retirements, Graduations, Bar Mitzvas, Holiday Parties, and more. They can play for all size crowds at any location and have traveled as far as Alabama and Oklahoma to perform.
THE GET FUNK KREW has an office, offers up-lighting rental, limo rentals, party bus rentals, sound rentals, and more. There are 8 DJ's, an Office Manager, and an equipment Manager.
With contracts all over Houston and surrounding areas, THE GET FUNK KREW shows no signs of slowing down.
