Is there such thing as private speech therapists? If so anyone have a contact number?

https://www.facebook.com/gigisspeechtherapy/ For preschool aged children, refer them yourselves to the health unit. An initial screen (free) can give you valuable information regarding recommendations on what parents can focus on. There are 4(?) Of us in town who offer private speech therapy. I've posted my page here, but you can go to www.bcaslpa.ca and do a search for private SLP. You need to select location and age group. The recommended rate is $120/hr but it does range from $100 to $150+ across the province.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with a speech therapist? Would I need a referral from a pediatrician? Any that any of you have worked with that you could recommend?
Thank you!
