  **delete if not allowed** Hello, my name is Teejay, many of you may not know me but that is OK. I'm seeking legal help and if anyone knows where I can get a family lawyer for cheap or do work pro buno. My friend is fighting for custody for her son, David. David, lost his mother to cancer two years ago and his mother's best friend gained custody of him and his two sisters. Long story short, my friend was given David from his guardian back in November saying she couldn't handle him anymore and he was out of control. When David moved in with my friend, he got his own room, was on the honor roll for the first time ever and is much happier. Living with my friend though is about to be short lived due to the fact his guardian now wants him back and my friend has temporary custody of him but because of lack of adequate cause my friend has no just cause of getting full custody of David. David is mentally, emotionally and physically abused at his guardians. There has been times where CPS is called but has done nothing. David would need a guardio lium (spelling?) And a lawyer cause without one, my friend loses a chance to gain full custody of David. My friend is raising David and two additional kids of her own. She would go without and make sure David and the kids get what they need. Please help in any way. Thank you.

  This is being posted by the Lexus Project. To date, we have not been able to locate pro bono local counsel to represent Mia /TLP. We thought we had someone but she is busy with other cases and has not gotten back to us. We can't hire an attorney because there is not enough money to hire one. We have made Mia's owner aware. We will give her all the money raised to be used for Mia's defense and wish her and Mia the very best. If anyone has a contact of an attorney in the Memphis area who can help,pro bono, they do not need to know a thing about animal law. We will walk them through the entire process.
