  Contractor recommendation for (very) small scale kitchen project? Hi all! I’m looking for recommendations on a handyman or contractor who is willing to take on a very small scale, low budget kitchen project in Capitol Hill. Depending on cost, at the very least it would entail modifying a cabinet and adding plumbing/outlet to install a dishwasher next to my sink (where there currently is not one). At most, it would be replacing the cabinets for a 4’ section, install the DW, tear out linoleum and refinish the wood floors underneath, and make some improvements to cabinets on the opposite wall (another 4’ section). It’s been hard to get anyone to call me back and the few companies I’ve spoken to aren’t willing to do such a small thing in this economy. I’d prefer a contractor to do it all, but I’m also willing to hire carpenters, plumbers and electrician to do the work separately. Any recommendations? thanks!

  Drywall contractors are short handed because it is so busy. I would be leary if you get someone on this short of notice, Check them out on lni.wa.gov and get references. Don't give them any money up front.

Thankfully I am doing okay and I realized not everybody has their life guaranteed so be thankful for your life every single day and don't take it for granted. That being said, the driver who hit me did not have insurance and I only had liability. Does anybody have any recommendations? I currently also have a stiff neck and no insurance as I have transitioned to being an independent contractor where they don't provide you with insurance.   My mom used S&R Flooring at Dollars Corner and they did a very good job on her granite countertops. I agree, American Marble and Granite, Camas is very good. Also, there are some inexpensive Mom and Pops in Portland. Go to www.lni.wa.gov or call 896-2300 to make sure the installers have a current contractors license, workers' compensation, and they are registered with DOR in Washington.
