About us
Tip Top Rug Cleaning is an equestrian laundry service based at South Wales Equestrian Centre (near Pencoed). We offer a reliable washing and repairing service to horse owners, livery yards and riding schools across the country.
Dirty and damaged rugs can be dropped at the workshop (drop off/collection times at SWEC can be seen in our opening hours section) or at our various drop off points (more details below). We also offer a collection service which can be arranged in advance or at short notice.

Gareth, and his miracle pony are on their way to Badminton this year (2018) and Tip Top will be behind him all the way keeping Jaspers rugs looking 'Tip Top'. I can't wait to see him in action at Badminton and at the local shows/events this year.
Megan, and her lovely horse Buzz will be eventing and competing all year, the jumps just get bigger each time! You will be seeing a lot of Megan this year I am sure! I will be looking after all of Buzzs' laundry too to keep him looking d smelling fresh at the shows!

Tip Top purchases old/damaged rugs (from £1-£5 per rug), they will be washed and most likely used for parts. We also, take donations of rugs for a local Pony Rescue. All rugs will be washed, then if in good enough condition and small enough, they will be donated to the trust. If they are beyond repair, we will use them for parts. Some rugs that we are so kindly given are just too big to be of use to the trust, so in this instance, the rugs will be washed and... show more sold. Proceeds will go to the trust, more than likely in the form of much needed feed which is purchased from a feed store close to the trust. All donations are much appreciated!

Tip Top's TERMS & CONDITIONS
Washing -
Sadly we can't always make your old and well worn rugs like new and completely watertight again, but we can promise to do our absolute best to get them looking as 'Tip Top' as possible with our equipment and specialist products. Its commonly known that once used/washed or repaired in any way, some rugs just simply aren't as watertight as they were when new. We use a range of products from market leading companies who specialise in equine laundry detergents and re-proofing products.
Tip Top cannot be held responsible for any existing damage, and any resulting further damage should any occur during the washing process.
Rugs that are collected/dropped to us that are very dirty, muddy or mouldy may need to be lightly pressure washed prior to being put in the washing machine.
Very hairy items (including numnahs/saddle pads) may need to be treated with other products and/or may not come back to you completely hair free.
Reproofing -
To re-proof a rug the rug should be cleaned, ideally here with us so that we can ensure that the correct product has been used.
If your rug has any sun damage, rips, or holes, or the rugs fabric is in poor condition, Tip Top can not guarantee your rug will be completely waterproof.
If you rug has previously been washed in a domestic washing machine with a domestic detergent, we can't guarantee your rug will be waterproof/watertight as this can destroy the rugs protective layer.
Turnout rugs that are sun-dyed or have visible sun damage will often have burst fibres making it much harder to maintain or guarantee waterproofing. Will will provide extra attention to these areas, however we can not be held responsible for any leaks in these areas.
Please note, rugs with and old patches/any repaired patches have a chance of leaking. Tip Tip can not be held responsible for any leaks in these areas. We will do our best to provide extra attention to these areas when re-proofing.
Rugs that have been left with Tip Top for longer than three months, will be sold on. Sadly due to a lack of storage space, we are unable to hold rugs for long periods of time. show more
