  Local folks, question - we have two windows that need repair. When we moved in, one wasn't working and then last year the other one stopped working. Something in the track that helps it go up and down is broken so one won't stay open without being propped up and the other won't open at all without a LOT of effort. We heard something snap on that one so we know something is broken. We're looking to get them repaired but have NO idea where to start looking...is that a handyman problem? Anyone know a handyman they'd recommend? Or is that a "call the window manufacturer" problem? Our house was built in 2006, so the windows are that old, and they are the typical insulated windows, so nothing fancy...any recommendations or advice on where to start is appreciated!

  my husband owns a contracting company and does that kind of stuff - he would likely come out for a free estimate, or even just to tell you what you actually need.
