Any good recommendations for a good masseuse that specializes in deep tissue with a sports medicine background? Hi r/Austin,
I've been extremely inactive and lethargic lately with the recent quarantine (think summer of George for my Seinfeld fans) and I'm in the process of getting out of that rut. One issue is that I think my extended period of inactivity and constant sitting/laying down has caused my entire back and glutes area to tighten up ....to the point where I'm feeling a lot of spasms, trigger points, and pulled muscles.
Does anyone have recommendations for a good massage therapist that specializes in deep tissue with a sort of sports medicine type of background?
Thank you in advance, and I hope everyone's staying safe during these crazy times!
Edit: changed masseuse to massage therapist
Does anyone have reccomendations for or connections to a reliable (and affordable) sports doctor in Austin? Ideally someone who knows a thing or two about cycling!
Any recommendations for a massage therapist? Someone that deals with chronic pain/TMJ? I have horrible TMJ. This radiates down my neck and my shoulders are crazy tight. I have asked around and nobody seems to know anyone. I am afraid to go to a random place I find online. I have definitely had some massages that made me feel even worse.
I am located in central austin but willing to drive up to 30 minutes. I am desperate.

I don't have your issues, but for my sports-related injuries, I've been a huge fan of **ART** -- *Active Release Technique*. It's like a combination of physical therapy + chiropractor + massage with muscle movement + some nerve gliding, which might make you feel way better. My girlfriend and I both see Dr. Jill at Austin Sports Therapy (Mopac/2222), it's about $80/appointment, but do some research and see if anyone in the ART community specializes in your issues. http://austinsportstherapy.com/ http://www.yelp.com/biz/austin-sports-therapy-austinhttp://hss.edu/conditions_introduction-to-active-release-technique.asp
