My son was referred to psychologist in niceville, Dr. Bonnie, but was told it could be a couple weeks to get an evaluation done. He did his in-take 3 weeks ago. We have said he has ASD for over a year. Hurlburt and Eglin never enlightened us we could go through valued options to get our own evaluation done for an official diagnosis prior to dr. Vandecar possibly seeing him.(but now that he is retiring, and coming back as a contractor they now are telling people to go off base.) My son starts full time school on the 17th. I would like to have his evaluation before then, but I do have in all his kindergarten paperwork he is in the process of being officially diagnosed. Does anyone know of a provider that accepts Tricare prime/value options who could possibly see him in the next 2 weeks? The other place said it could be another 3 to 6+ weeks. We've waited long enough and we were not told of it being a delayed evaluation prior to in-take. We were told the opposite when they knew the woman just went on maternity leave.
