  Looks like after 10 years, our air conditioning unit has developed a crack and leaking freon. Debating cost to find and repair ($1800-2200) or replace (5-8k). Does anyone have a reputable HVAC guy that can help me make that decision. Used one of the larger outfits in the area and I would like other opinions before spending thousands of dollars. According to the tech, he believes there was aprox. 4-5 lbs out of 8 of freon left. He put in 1 lb. and it immediately disappeared.
