how can I convince my landlord to replace broken doors? I am renting a home that has
1. A door from an alleyway to a garden
2. A door from the garden to the garage
3. A door from a driveway to the garage
4. A door from the garage into the home
Door 1 is wood and steel - the wood is rotting, meaning the door cannot open and close clearly, and more importantly, the lock does not work. This means anybody can get into the garden.
Door 2 is fine EXCEPT the lock does not work and needs to be replaced.
Door 3 is the incorrect kind of door - the door being used is not fire proof at all, is very thin, and does not fit the door frame, meaning it is very easy to force open and gain entry into the home.
Door 4 is operational but does not have a lock.
My landlord has a history of being cheap or unwilling to do repairs. **Is there some sort of building / renting code / guideline that I can reference to convince him that safety is an issue and these doors need to be repaired?**
