Can anyone provide a recommendation as to how I would go about finding a (good) fixed fee financial adviser, ideally in NYC? I have a financial adviser who takes a % cut of my investments but I’m not sure I’m getting a good return. I’d like for someone to analyze my investments with a view to possibly taking over the management but more on a fixed fee rather than a % basis. I think I am being too actively managed and I don’t need this. I just really want someone who I can talk to who is financially literate and get me off my paralysis which often happens with investments. I am looking for someone that can help with all my investments which are currently in the low seven figure amount - exclusive of our property. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice.

  Start with www.garrettplanningnetwork.com. That is where I found my financial planner and she is fabulous. All planners on that network are strictly fee based. They have no financial stake in your investments.
