Looking for a nutritionist I'm looking for a nutritionist in Austin that specializes in diabetic nutrition. Ideally they themselves are diabetic as, in my experiences most nutritionists aren't, they only really understand one half of the equation. Any suggestions?

Just a couple of weeks ago, my doctor referred me to [Texas Nutrition Consultants](http://www.texnutrition.com/) here in Austin. My blood sugar has been way too high for a while, and even though he says I'm "not quite diabetic yet," it's bad enough that he's got me on Metformin and wants me to get on a plan to improve my diet as far as sugars/carbs go. I'm not sure if they necessarily specialize in diabetic nutrition, but it's where he sends all his diabetes patients.
Can anyone recommend a weight gain specialist (doctor)? I'm an underweight male who has a very hard time putting on mass. Might have thyroid issues. I don't know how to find the right doctor, so I'm asking you guys.
Thanks.
