Reputable Home Inspector Hello all,
Pretty much what the title says. I'm in the market for a house and I just had my offer fall through because of structural issues.
The issue in question was a problem with one of the walls and a clear discolouration (plaster wall). He was not able to complete any testing or provide any advice on what it could be. He noted that the discolouration is most likely due to age but he admitted that it could be anything.
In saying that, does anyone have a reputable home inspector i can get in touch with? The above inspector was recommended by my agent but I'm willing to spend the money for a comprehensive inspection if it's able to save me money down the road.
EDIT: when it was all said and done i sent the inspectors report to my contractor and he said that it was most likely water damaged that was improperly addressed.

Bruce Jacobs Property Inspection - http://jacobspropertyinspections.ca/ He is awesome! Very smart but also doesn't make you feel dumb when you ask questions. My parents used them when they first bought their house and we used him when we got ours, so needless to say he has a lot of experience.
