Restaurant recommendations for wife’s 40th Hi all,
We are coming back to NYC (one of our favourite places) in May to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday.
I’m looking for some restaurant recommendations to celebrate her big day. Budget around $100 per person, and looking for something really memorable and out of the ordinary. Food wise we’re open to any suggestions. On our last trip we ate at [Quality Meats](http://www.qualitymeatsnyc.com/) and loved it, so a steakhouse could be an option, although we also love Italian and most other cuisines.
Also like the look of The Grammercy Tavern as it looks like a bit of a NYC institution, so anything along those lines would be appealing.
Thanks in advance!

The 5 course tasting menu at [Battersby](https://www.battersbybrooklyn.com/menu-2/) is delicious and $75/pp. Super memorable meal! [Balthazar](http://balthazarny.com/) is always a great "special occasion" spot Le CouCou I thought Gramercy Tavern was forgettable and overpriced.
I'm looking to take out my fiance for Christmas in NYC and I need your suggestions in a classy restaurant Looking to spend in the $100-175 range for a nice dinner for 2, dessert optional. Preferably in the lower parts of Manhattan or anywhere in Brooklyn/Queens. We like to eat anything and everything. Thanks everyone!
