Grandparents were having glass slider doors replaced on their 3 seasons porch so my 84 year old grandfather with Parkinson's who is essentially bedridden could at least be brought to the porch a little this summer. My husband talked to the people beforehand and explained there was some wood rotting and wanted to be sure that would not be a major issue after work began which they ensured there wouldn't be as they would just reframe it.
Yesterday work began and after a couple hours they said the rot is from wet rot and carpenter ants and are pausing work indefinitely until a contractor is hired to come in and replace all the rot. The porch is now all boarded up. Every contractor so far is booked out for months.
Any recommendations for an affordable contractor who could do this work quickly?
