  I had a RNY Gastric Bypass with Baylor Grapevine's WeightLoss Clinic. My Dr. was Sina Matin. (817-305-5061) I don't know how much their lap-band procedure costs but the bypass self -pay pricing was fairly reasonable (my insurance ended up paying for mine in the end). I would definitely recommend going to a hospital based program. I interviewed "stand alone" Dr.'s and found that their follow-up programs and nutritional counseling was not as comprehensive as the hospital based programs. UT Southwestern and Baylor have established Weightloss Programs. It's a "you get what you pay for" concept. Getting the band placed or in my case the Bypass, is only a small portion of what it takes to be successful. Two years out from Bypass surgery and I find that my bypass still "works" but I need to use the tools that the weight loss center staff and nutritionist taught me before and after the surgery to keep weight off.
