My name is Nicole Lachance and I am a senior English teacher who turned caterer while on maternity leave three years ago. I started out with a close friend and we opened All Fed Up Catering in Fort Nelson. We were in business together for over three years, and then in October 2011 I ventured off on my own to create Gourmet Girl Catering.
On January 3, 2012 Gourmet Girl will move from a home based catering business, to a catering cafe operating out of the Northern Lights College Fort Nelson campus!
I am passionate about quality food prepared with fresh and natural ingredients. Nothing is from a bottle or a box; even the salad dressing is made from scratch using natural ingredients! Gourmet Girl's tasty menu will change daily, offering a selection of home made baking, paninis on home made focaccia bread, hearty soups, fresh salads, and a hot entree.
Whether you enjoy your meal in the cafe space, or take it back to the office, all foods are served on environmentally sustainable and recyclable/compostable cutlery plates and containers. I am dedicated to reducing my environmental impact by offering all condiments in bulk rather than in packaged portions, and doing my part to ensure that any leftovers are donated to local organizations to reduce food waste. Only fair trade coffee is served, and where feasible organic food is used.
From a simple lunch, to an elaborate gala dinner, Gourmet Girl Catering will focus on the details to ensure that your meal has home cooked flavour and is served with flair.
Are there any great caterers on the Coast who could handle a primarily organic spread? Eclectic and creative fare desired. They would need to oversee all food and beverage offerings at a home event.
