I started DIY Genius in 2011 to share my self-education journey and educate others on how to use the Internet to create their own self-directed learning program and learn today’s most in-demand digital skills.
I started creating my self-directed learning program a decade ago because I wanted to learn a set of digital media, marketing, and entrepreneurial skills that would allow me the freedom to work anywhere and travel the world.
Thanks to the magic of the Internet, I’ve been able to build a “location independent” career and realize my dream of traveling part of each year to explore my passion for ancient civilizations and the world’s religious traditions.
What began with building an e-commerce website to promote my Tiki-based surf clothing company, has evolved into a career in digital marketing where I have worked with some of the largest technology brands (Dell, ASUS, HP) and participated in launches of digital training products for innovative education companies (Udemy, Mindvalley, Eben Pagan).
From building websites, to search engine marketing and attracting large online audiences, I’ve developed my digital expertise and become a broad-based digital media specialist.
I believe it isn’t enough to specialize in one discipline anymore. Today’s fast-changing digital economy requires a broad understanding of the Internet and how to use it to design, engage, experiment, analyze, optimize and sell the content you create.
So, what I do is show people how to learn these valuable digital skills here at DIY Genius.
I am looking into Social Media Marketing Courses. Has anyone taken a course that covers all social media specifically Facebook advertising? Can anyone suggest a course for me? Thank you in advance
