  Less expensive furniture removal? Does anyone know of a local service that I could hire to remove a couch from my apartment for less than what junk removal companies charge? I don’t need someone to haul it away, just bring outside for pick-up, and the quotes I’ve gotten from Junkluggers and others are for disposal and really high. I’m in a walk-up with narrow stairs and it doesn’t come apart, so I don’t trust myself with it. Probably too beaten up to be useful to anyone.

  Yeah, Junkluggers gave me a quote of $770 to remove a queen sized futon (no frame) from a walkup and told me that no one would do it for less. I got a decent price from movecomovers.com.
