  You can call the shelter and leave a message after hours. (304-329-3461) Stray dogs will be picked up during regular business hours. The shelter asks that the animal be confined or tied for pick up. Reason being, a lot of time is spent going to pick up strays that have moved on and are no longer there when animal control arrives.There is no drop box for the animals and animal abandonment is a punishable crime. If you would like to drop off a stray dog, please call and schedule a time to ensure that there is an available kennel for the dog. For a true emergency please dial 911.
