I'm shopping around for a new pediatrician for my 6 month old son. I started out really liking my ped. but now I feel like my current one is a bit dismissive of my questions and a bit curt with me. I'd LOVE some suggestions please. TIA!

I love Dr. Kathleen Ryan who is a pediatrician as well as an infectious disease specialist. She has watched my daughter very carefully growing up. We changed Dr.s when our first Dr. didn't notice that my daughter had retinoblastoma (retina cancer) even after the classic signs. Please take lots of pics without red eye reduction on camera. If you see one red eye and one white, check with the specialist for cancer. If your child has only the classic childhood diseases I guess it doesn't matter much but Hailee was blind in one eye and they were saying her sight was fine. Remember you know your kids the best. When I kept insisting that I want to take my daughter to an eye specialist, I was told they will only say that she is fine and it is nothing. I'm glad I pushed for an appointment with a specialist but didn't know how urgent it was since I trusted our doctor and had to wait 3 months more. We might have been able to save my daughters eye if I was stronger. New parents think the doctors know everything! Here is what my daughter wrote- http://www.alexslemonade.org/hero/hailee-zeichner She is fine now and getting ready for college.
