About us
Sunnyside School House is a preschool that provides children with an environment structured around learning through play. At Sunnyside, the children plant the seed of interest and the teacher brings the resources to bare this interest. Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy. The essence of this method is that children are born capable of learning, storing, and organizing information on their own. In order to foster a child's learning our school curriculum is fluid, emergent, dynamic and unique. It stems from the child’s own interests and curiosities about the world around them. A Sunnyside School House lesson plan can be derived from topics such as the seasons, an animal species or language to current events, architecture and modern art. Our goal is to foster children’s’ social, emotional, and physical development in a fun loving and nurturing environment.
