  Good morning ladies, I'm returning to work (outside the home) very soon but need to update my hair salon options. The catch? I'm of a Caribbean-Canadian background and finding a good stylist with experience in "black hair" is sometimes a challenge in Ottawa -- to say the least. (Experience is a must as I don't want to pay to be a guinea pig in a stylist's chair. This has happened to me before and I'm not keen to repeat the experience.) I'm looking for referrals between Orleans and the downtown core, if possible. I'm also looking for a place with great customer service, reasonable appointment lengths, and reasonable prices. Before 2010, I used Texture on Dalhousie and the York Street Spa but each only had one (awesome) stylist with the experience I was looking for, which meant waiting for weeks or months for an appointment. Someone who understand that the wrong move creates a ball or triangle which we don't want. It would also be a bonus if we could find a place to get her eyebrows waxed.
