About us
Why I do what I do:
We are passionate about what we do. I grew up with Legos, Lincoln Logs, and Erector sets; and the projects have just grown bigger. I can’t tell you how many times I got in trouble for taking my dad’s tools without asking. It was tough because there was a large pile of leftover construction materials from the passive solar home he designed and built which were just calling out to be played with. Since all that building was so much fun then, why would I stop now?
My dad was in the trades in the 70’s and 80’s, and we never hired anyone to repair anything around the house. We did it ourselves, including stuccoing the 30 foot high retaining wall in our living room. There is nothing like living room scaffolding to a 7 year old who loves to climb! Of course, I’ve learned a few more things since.
I worked for Oldé Style Woodworks building lines of furniture, wood flooring, and structural elements out of resourced lumber, mostly from 19th century barns. A dozen years ago I had the great fortune of working for the owner of Wyscaver Craftsmen, a man who has done everything from drafting blueprints to building skyscrapers, and I have had the luck to have him as a mentor ever since. For a time I worked for RamPRO Painting as a site manager which led me to joining forces with the owner to form my first landscape and remodel company, RamPRO Home Services.
After running RamPRO for many years, I decided to divest and join the Peace Corps. My first project was helping to build a mud brick home for Community Based Tourism Azerbaijan. My primary objective was to teach and train Entrepreneurship. Over those 2 years I became more excited about how a small company could be run sustainably with a focus on quality and having fun. All of this and more led me to create Blueprint Home Services. I spent my last couple of months in Peace Corps working out the legal details, designing our marketing, developing processes, and getting excited about a new... show more
adventure.
One month after I returned home Blueprint Home Services was up and running. It has, and always will be a learning process. We have taken on unique projects, reconnected with Wyscaver Craftsmen, made new friends and customers, and continue to expand our network of specialty tradespeople, master gardeners, designers, landlords, real estate agents, and employees.
From installing river rock shower walls, restoring trim in a beautiful 1920’s Craftsman style kitchen, and building a unique business infrastructure from the ground up, we do it all. Our favorite things to do are kitchen and bathroom remodels; building decks, sheds and fences; and old home restoration. We will take on almost any project, take our time to do it right, resource as many materials as possible, and leave our customers with an attractive space that can be used for decades. show more
