What makes Picky Wops different is
the variety of pizza dough
we offer, which are all unique in flavor, color and texture.
The Picky Wops concept is also about welcoming all
the communities, regardless of their
background, opinions or colors.
Picky Wops aims to bring everyone together and immerse
itself in the community, just like the Wops.
Yes, exactly like the Wops, our ancestors
who migrated here in search of a dream.
THE MEANING
PICKY = fussy and hard to please...
(YOU CAN ACTUALLY PICK YOUR BASE)
WOPS = offensive & racist word used to define italians
in 1900. origin uncertain, perhaps from Italian
guappo ‘bold, showy’
(Cristiano and Andrea are 2 italian imigrants!)
Because we are the first and the only ones in town to use so many different alternative FLOURS,
because we are against any type of discrimination, because we look at CONTENTS not LABELS...
...we are proud to take our ancestors heritage and change the wops connotation into something positive
