About the photographer- My name is Lindsay Saunders and I was born (and still live) in Alaska with my husband and three wee ones. I am a lover of animals, and of the outdoors. Over the years, Alaska has grown on me more and more. I love how my heart skips a beat every time I get to the top of a mountain, or see an adorable red fox run across a road. Furthermore, I have always loved trying to see the world in a different way, and have always found it fascinating to try and 'capture' a moment or a scene through art. I love to draw and paint, and photography is just another outlet to express and feel emotion. I received a bachelor's in history and in art in 2013, I am a certified 7-12 high school teacher, and am currently receiving an M.Ed. I have spent years drawing and painting, and have truly involved myself with photography about 4 years ago thanks to my kids that have had to endure my endless photos of them.
About the photography-
Personally, I like photography a little raw. I want to capture a moment, and keep that moment genuine. I do not like to overly use photoshop to fix 'imperfections'. These things that we dub imperfections are what give moments and people their authenticity. I am also a big proponent of the phrase 'love yourself'. In a world of overly staged photography and photoshop, I want to keep it simple. Genuine. Real. I love using vintage lenses and adding vintage color correction (that is about as far as I go with 'shopping' photos). Mostly, I just want people to feel comfortable. I will guide you through the process if you need it, but mostly I just let you 'do your thing' and live in your own moment. I don't want to STEAL your moment, I just want photograph it (haha).
