  Definitely get a second opinion Amanda. This sounds a bit like one of those plumbers who tell you that your boiler is beyond repair...and would you believe it, he's got one in the back of his van... Happy to come and have a look - we're a firm of builders but we have a qualified electrician amongst our number. Don't worry, we won't try to 'sell' you any building work you don't want/need...that's why we're called Trustworthy Builder Ltd... Feel free to PM me or call on 07977 242 951.
