Most of the restaurants recommended I've seen around reddit and on lists are usually fine-dining places which I feel might be a little much for a casual friendly get together.   Well, I don't know if you like sushi but the all you can eat sushi at the Spoon and Fork is decent and the prices were not that bad. ​ If you like meat, Copacabana ( [www.thecopa.ca](https://www.thecopa.ca) ), little more pricey but the meat! And if you go on the right day/time they have little shows. I would make reservations. Go to the right one for the show (Adelaide I think), and ask for the main floor reservation as that is the best to watch the show.
