Elisa Kiser is awesome. I had to go to her because I got into a fight with my coworker in front of everyone. It was a bad scene. My other coworker told me to get help through my employer's private therapy program. BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. And since I did it through my employer it was free to me!
Kiser walked me through the issue and I started crying for no reason. But this isn't all about sitting on a couch and chatting about yourself. Kiser practices (among other discplines) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where you don't just sit around on a couch and do nothing about the issue, you actually face it head on and solve the problem. Kiser showed me exercises to do and I did them faithfully. I like to have a book so I asked about books on the subject. My favorite ended up being a $5 book from Amazon called "Feeling Good" by Dr. David Burns. He also has a blog. I also got the Panic Attacks book. Just these few things have completely changed my life, not just my work situation.
Now my coworker and boss are fighting. I feel very bad for my boss (coworker is a nightmare and should have never been hired but.. too late). I gave boss a copy of "Feeling Good" and she is considering going into cognitive behavioral therapy.
