  Reddit: I need a decent and cheap hotel near some popular museums in Washington, D.C. I am going to take my girlfriend to see the Holocaust museum and the Newseum in DC this weekend and I'm looking for a hotel to stay at for a night. Mostly because I'm (kind of) in the area, but also because I feel ashamed of myself for living 22 years of my life in the Northeast and have never been near our nation's capital. So reddit, I ask, what are some decent hotels where I can get a nice night's sleep, not be skeeved out, and not break the bank around these two museums? It'd help out a bunch. Thanks!

  The [Hotel Rouge](http://www.rougehotel.com/) is like 2 blocks from the White House, near Dupont circle. It's a cool boutique hotel (owned by Kimpton). They appear to have rooms for ~$135. Based on my stay there, that seems like a good price.
