Rodney Aphasia Group offers support and friendship to people with aphasia following stroke, of any age and culture.
Our monthly meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of every month at Rotary House in Silverdale. Meetings start at 1.30pm until around 3.00pm, and include afternoon tea and regular guest speakers.
Meetings are informative and educational, providing members with information about resources and research related to the challenges of living with aphasia.
Thanks to our grants, we can offer members access to a range of free therapy programmes, the majority aimed at improving communication.
We also offer support workshops for carers, courses to improve limb function, and workshops to improve brain function.
Attendance at any of the above courses and or workshops is optional.
Details about our meetings will be posted each month. We welcome new members at any time. Should you require any further information please contact the Administrator on 428 0414 or 0210 527 258.
Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced speech therapist for an older man, recovering from a stroke please? North Shore area is preferred or possibly someone who would be prepared to visit at home perhaps 1-2x per week. Thanks in advance :-)
