Seeing water bill go from approx $30, than $50 and $104.Amy K. replied:I had this happen recently and learned that most plumbers dont do leak detection service themselves (they contract it out and then charge you more for it). Your most cost effective option is to get the leak located and then call plumber to fix it (first, be sure that the problem is not in your house by turning off main valve to house and checking to see if meter still running at the street plus other signs like a boggy spot in the yard). We used company called American Leak Detection (770-436-5722). Technicians name was Bill Dischinger and he did a great job for us. Cost will run you about $200 depending on your location.

You may call 811 and have them come out and mark it for you. Or you can call American Leak Detection (770) 436-5722 that one of my plumbers uses. He said they are spot on.
