The Grande Prairie Regional Animal Care Facility is operated in partnership by the County and City of Grande Prairie. The facility opened on June 27 after an unforeseen shutdown of the Grande Prairie and District SPCA (GPSPCA) due to financial instability.
Until further notice, the Facility is delivering an animal care plan to guarantee the continuation of safe, humane animal shelter, care, and adoptions throughout the region.
The animal care plan is being delivered by Grande Prairie Regional Animal Pound staff at the existing building and garage in the Brochu Industrial Park.
Representatives from the County and City continue to work with GPSPCA personnel to find a sustainable solution to the GPSPCAs financial difficulties.
For the next six months, these services are being delivered at the Regional Animal Care Facility – Pound Services, Adoption Services and Animal Shelter Services
