Price isn't a huge concern, although I'm not made of money I'd be willing to splurge on a good place.   I think a foodie appreciates a unique menu and quality food. To that end, two places in San Diego that stand out to me are: http://www.cafe-21.com/ Cafe 21 is in north park and has really unique items and is especially great for lunch. http://www.urbansolace.net/ Urban Solace is also in north park and is a great place for dinner. Classy place with lots of really good food.
