  Sockeye Inn: http://www.sockeyeinn.com On the corner of Fireweed and C St., so not in southern Anchorage, but its not like Anchorage is all that large to begin with. Nightly rates start at $79 for a single. This does not include the 12% bed tax either, so plan accordingly. Other than that, like /u/akgreenman says, $150-$200+ is a fact of life for rooms up here. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the prices for anything and everything tourist/travel related jump up. If you want cheaper, then pack a tent and find somewhere to camp when you get in.
