We go to Dental Town and while they don't push, they almost always ask.Catherine D. replied:Dental Town always asks but has never once pushed it or made me feel bad for declining.Melanie A. replied:Dental Town....I actually work for Dental Town and my children are patients of Dr. Hansen and Dr. Davidson and we also have an orthodontist, Dr. Crosby, and I am on my second child with braces with Dr. Crosby. I have worked with pediatric dentists for 25 years and I adore every one of the doctors at Dental Town. From more of a legal standpoint you honestly have to let every parent/patient know of every recommended procedure but in the end the doctors do understand that you are the parent and always give you the utmost respect in your decisions. They will not push you at all and if anything are extremely conservative. We have several patients who decline fluoride and definitely do not push them. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

That seems crazy to me! Thank you in advance for any suggestions!Jakima M. replied:Kristi- we use Dr Schwendiman at Dental Town and they are *very* conservative in their treatment planning. Sometimes a dental office will recommend "scaling", which is a deep cleaning of the gums and teeth, when a patient hasn't been in a while. Sometimes it's necessary and sometimes it's just not needed. If he really needs that much work, he can try to get into the Ben Massell dental clinic downtown.Lisa P. replied:Tell him to sign up for Careington 1 and find a dental group who accepts it. It was $99 per year for my entire family and it gives multiple cleanings for free and huge discounts on major dental work. I wouldn't recommend Dental Town. They might be okay for kids, but their dentist who specializes in adults was so painful the few times I went to him that I didn't go to the dentist for several years out of fear of that pain.
