Means it has to be on a regular switch, not a dimmer. Oh, and given that it is on a staircase it likely needs to be on a 3 way switch. Meaning you can turn it on or off at either end of the stairs. So it is 2 switches, not just one. Just trying to be helpful. Back to building my own house. :)
