About us
Equine Sports Massage is a holistic and therapeutic application of professional sports massage techniques to aid in prevention and treatment of soft tissue injuries to create optimum health and comfort, alleviating pain and tightness and improving performance.
Taking a holistic view means as a therapist, I will look at your horse and treat your horse as a whole, not just a specific area. I will consider all possible causes of problems/tension while watching and reading the horse’s reactions to different movements.
If your horse is showing signs of discomfort e.g. head tossing, bucking, tail swishing, lateral stiffness, reluctant to canter on one lead, etc.… even just a gradual increase of reluctance to go forward is a sign there may be something wrong, for the welfare of your horse it is important to investigate this. A massage will identify the areas of discomfort to help locate cause.
Regular massages for maintenance, rehabilitation or problematic behaviours helps to; improve muscle tone, increase circulation, increase horse’s range of movement, reduces swelling and inflammation, promotes healing, keeps muscles supple, releases endorphins etc.
Prices are as follows:
• A full initial consultation and massage £45 (includes taking all details, trot up, gait analysis, tack check)
• A full massage £35
• Pre/post event massage £25 - aids in warm up and recovery of your competition horse
• For 2/3 horses on the same yard each it will be £5 cheaper (£30 each for full massage) or 4 horses at £25 each and I will have offers for regular customers:)
•35p per mile for anyone over a 15 miles radius of PE13 4ED
I am happy to provide on-going support and advice after your visit. I encourage clients to keep in touch with their progress as I love to hear how you and horses are doing!
By law, I have to have veterinary permission to treat your horses, this can be via signature/phone call/email, contact me and I will organise this.
