Recommendation for antique appraisal? I worry my father was ripped off. My elderly father purchased an antique oil lamp with a painted glass shade. He spent thousands of dollars on it. I am convinced he was ripped off, but on the off chance he wasn't I'd like to pay to have it appraised. Does anyone have any resources for antique appraisal? I'm in the SW metro, but I'd be glad to travel and pay whatever the going rate is for an appraisal.

It's not an appraiser, per say, but I'd give Architectural Antiques in Northeast a call and see if they have any ideas or can point you towards someone who would. http://www.archantiques.com/
