  Alexandria Old Town: Anyone have recommendations for day care and a private school for grade school? Hi, Long story short...I may be moving to Alexandria with my wife and 2 kids. I noticed the public school systems seem to have lower rankings compared to other schools in the area. Therefore, I am considering private schools for kindergarten and 1st grade.   I lived in Old Town and was on the wait list for [Hopkins House](http://www.hopkinshouse.org/) before I moved out. It seemed a pretty decent place. I was looking for infant day care, don't know if they have a kindergarten program there.
