Headwaters Health Care Centre is a Community Hospital centred within a 640 square mile rural area, serving Dufferin County and the Town of Caledon. Headwaters Health Care Centre cares for a population of more than 110,000 full and part time residents, which is expected to grow to 118,355 by 2010 and 135,618 by 2018, and has a $50 million operating budget. The hospital operates with a dedicated and professional health care team of over 650 staff, 60 active physicians and 470 volunteers. Headwaters Health Care Centre operates within the Central West LHIN, which is home to approximately 720,300 people or 5.8 percent of the population of Ontario. From 1994 to 2004 the Central West LHIN’s population grew annually (on average) by 3.3 percent compared to the 1.5 percent annual population growth seen in Ontario overall.
