  [TJ Lamb](http://tjlamb.com/) is a buyers agent and was a great help to us when we moved in from out of state. Good advice, listened to what we were looking for, and worked very hard. I don't know if he does rentals though.

  If you're not selling a home here, you should consider going through a buyer's agent. That's what I did when I bought my place, and it worked out pretty well for me. The guy I went through (back in 1999) was [TJ Lamb](http://tjlamb.com/), who apparently is still in business. He was great when I worked with him back then. The advantage of a buyer's agent is that since they don't list homes they have no vested interest in trying to find you a place that *they* are listing so they get a nicer commission on the sale. They also are great at helping negotiate a price, and it's still kind of a buyer's market out there.
