Best local credit unions? Hey everyone!
Just wondering if anyone had any insight into solid credit unions in the city, preferably on the northside but I'm open to just about anywhere if it seems worth it. I've had my money saved in a large bank for the past couple of years but as of recently their APY has been decreasing to a point where I don't feel that it's really worth staying with them any longer.
I'm looking for a place with solid rates on savings accounts and solid customer service. I rarely, if ever, touch the money I have in my savings but I definitely want to know that it's in good hands. Any info/experience/whatever would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance :)
Credit Union recommendations? Been with bellco credit union for 30 years but they are just out of control lately. Nothing works and it's impossible to talk to anyone anymore. It's almost as if the motor vehicle department has taken over this bank.
There's gotta be a good credit union that's on their A game right?
Update - thanks for all the suggestions! The discussion made me realize I should just be looking for best online banking experience, as brick and mortar isn't important and doesn't have to be credit union. Charles Schwab banking and Capital One both seem to offer some good options I'm looking for - like simple online bill pay and a sleek mobile app that's well designed and easy to use.

Tired of big banks. Anyone have recommendations on credit unions or cooperatives? We like our Capital One (formerly ING), but want to have a local bank as well. Anyone have recommendations on co-ops or credit unions here in Denver? We're mainly looking for somewhere to put some cash and avoid fees. We probably won't use it for day to day stuff. Thanks!

Looking for a good Credit Union in Denver I am absolutely sick of Chase and plan to take out my money on November 5 with everyone else. Hoping to get some Reddit advice on a good local credit union to switch to.
My main concerns are ATM availability in Denver and ability to withdraw abroad without fees. My wife and I will be taking a year-long round the world trip next year and need a cheap way to get funds (Chase charges 3% on foreign withdrawals last I checked).
Anyone have any insight, good experiences, or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

edit: I see you mentioned foreign transactions...good luck finding someone that doesn't charge 3%. Pro tip for traveling abroad: use the ATM to get cash. it isn't considered a foreign transaction, and all you get charged is for the ATM use, and if you use a credit union they will sometimes get reimbursed.
edit: actually, 3% is pretty bad ass for a foreign transaction fee....i think Credit Union of Denver is 5%, Wells Fargo is 5%....Denver Fire CU waives all foreign fees if you have direct deposit with them. but yeah.

I do all of my banking with Credit Union of Denver. They don't have many branch offices in Denver (one in the Tivoli on Auraria Campus, one way out on west 6 th ave near Garrison I think, and one more somewhere...), but they have a deal where all of the 7-11 ATMs are free. So, you get a free ATM anywhere there's a 7-11 (even out of state). Their rates are good, customer service is good, low minimum balance on checking and savings accounts ($5), etc. Check them out, I've been very happy for years now. I'm not sure about foreign withdrawals. www.cudenver.com
