  I have a 14 week old Aussie and will need to be getting her spade soon. The vet in TC where I took her for her shots quoted me nearly $450. I'm retired and I haven't lived here long, but that seems like a lot of money for a spay. Any suggestions (do you have a better vet, is there a Leelanau county humane society or something that will do it cheeper, etc.). Thanks for any suggestions.

  LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER SERVICES In an effort to reduce the suffering of unwanted pets, the Cherryland Humane Society (CHS) is offering assistance with low cost spay and neuter procedures for residents of Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties (one animal per household). Due to the limited nature of the funding, this program is available to those struggling financially and will end when the grant funds are depleted.   Go to the Cherryland Humane Society website and there is info about a low cost /no cost spay neuter program available to GT and Leelanau County residents. www.cherrylandhumane.org
