  Rural Japanese house/inn recommendations near Kansai? Out of a 42day Japan summer trip, my wife and I have left 4 days open in hopes of staying in a peaceful countryside house or inn similar to the one in Summer Wars. Anyone have experience or recommendations of someplace within a few hours bus ride of Tokyo? We're hoping for old wooden house/inn, tatami rooms, nature, maybe a big common/family room with sliding exterior walls and wrap around porch. We know that rural Japanese towns are generally very dull and boring, but after 5 weeks staying in the heart of Shinjuku, this is exactly what we want. Thanks!
