I'm thinking about getting a puppy this winter/spring and many of the ads I've seen require a vet recommendation. Does anyone have a veterinarian near the East Village they would recommend? Thanks!

PLEASE rescue - there are loads of purebred rescues and milldogrescue.org pulls dogs used for breeding in horrific puppy mills and they often have litters of puppies for adoption. You can also try animalhavenshelter.org. As for vets, my vet is in Tribeca, but you don't find one closer, let me know and I'm happy to connect you. :)
Looking to volunteer with cats at No-Kill Animal Shelter My gf is looking to volunteer in a no-kill cat shelter. (They can have dogs too, but she just want to work with kitties). Preferably in Manhattan, but will go to Queens is close to the subway. Any recommendations?
For reference, we live on the UES.
