Does anyone know of a good vegetarian restaurant? Can anyone recommend a good vegetarian restaurant? My SO is flying in for the weekend and is a vegetarian. I'd like to surprise her by going someplace that will have many options for her!
She is not vegan, but feel free to recomend your favorite vegan places too! It's no problem to go to a more "strict" place.
Not being a vegetarian myself, I don't know of any places know for their vegetarian menues around here; so I'm open to any suggestions!
Thanks!

[Quiet Storm](http://www.qspgh.com/) on Penn Ave, vegetarian and vegan, I like a LOT of their food, and I am a carnivore!

There are so many. Ordered by recommendation.
1.
[Spak Brothers](http://spakbrothers.com/) for a soy cheese pizza with seitan sausage and veggie toppings and vegan wings (best vegan wings in the city). Also Seitan melt is a frequent order of some of my ovo-lacto-veggie friends.
* [Zenith](http://www.zenithpgh.com/) for Sunday brunch, or a private dinner Th-Sat (very few people go there other than brunch)
* [D's 6 pax & Dogz](http://www.ds6pax.com/) in Regent Square and Monroeville. Great beer selection, veggie dogs are the reason I go here.
* [Mad Mex](http://madmex.com/regions/pittsburgh/events/index.shtml) - Tex Mex fusion and an awesome aesthetic.
* [Kaya](http://www.bigburrito.com/kaya/) Strip district
* [Green Mango](http://www.thegreenmango.com/) in Regent Square and Monroeville. [Just found out Regent Square location is closing July 1st.](http://www.reddit.com/r/pittsburgh/comments/vfwvk/green_mango_in_regent_square_to_close_on_july_1st/)
* [Fuel & Fuddle](http://www.fuelandfuddle.com/) in Oakland, great college bar. I frequent it in the summer when the college student population is lower. It's pretty terrible any evening on which there is an event in the Pete.
* [Udipi](http://www.udipicafepittsburgh.com/) - Monroeville
* [Ali Baba's](http://www.alibabapittsburgh.com/) in Oakland - disclaimer, it's been ~8 years since i've eaten here, it was fanastic
* [Alladin's](http://www.aladdinseatery.com/) in Sq. hill
* [Sree's](http://www.srees.com/) - This is a take out place in Sq. Hill or a food cart on CMU campus. Food is great.
* [Joe's Dog house](http://www.joesdoghousepgh.com/hours.html) - If you happen to be on walnut street shopping on a Saturday between 10:00 and 4:30. Joe has great veggie options. This is a food cart.
* [Double Wide Grill](http://doublewidegrill.com/) in the SouthSide
* [Quiet Storm](http://www.qspgh.com/)
I'll keep adding more as I think of them. I've already listed my usual haunts. But Pittsburgh is very vegan friendly and thus ovo-lacto vegetarian friendly as well.
