Looking for authentic french restaurant to surprise my partner We had a round of bad news lately and I want to cheer him up. Over the honeymoon we took a side-trip to Paris and had some of the best food I've ever had in my entire life. In particular the fondue, crepes, and escargot were our favorites. I want to go find that tasty stuff again today. Any recommendations for authentic french restaurants nearby? Seems like the only fondue place I could find was the Melting Pot unfortunately.

No Fondue, but can't go wrong with [Chez Nous](http://cheznousaustin.com/our-menu/). A little more casual, but I really enjoy [Epicerie](http://epicerieaustin.com/home/) as well.

Chez Nous, Justine's, L'Estelle House. Don't think any of those do fondue, but they are fairly authentic.

I've been meaning to try Justine's but Chez Nous is a great little spot.

Justine's and Chez Nous have the best escargots.

Chez Nous - we had dinner there the day we got married, absolutely my favorite French place in Austin. It may look shabby/outdated, but the food is to die for, and it's actually a pretty romantic place.

I lived in France for awhile and I would say Chez Nous is probably the most authentic French restaurant in town. Justine's is also very good, but it wasn't as authentic. In some ways it's a better restaurant than Chez Nous though. Chez Nous is definitely a bit more traditional I would say. Can't go wrong with either.
